King Digital Entertainment, the company that created the record-breaking app Candy Crush, is gearing up for the global launch for a follow up app this fall.
Candy Crush Soda Saga will be similar to the original Candy Crush, but will offer improved graphics and provide a new in-app purchase. Gamers will now have the options to pay for in-game currency. With the in-game currency, users will have be able to purchase items such as special candies and extra movies
King Digital Entertainment co-founder Sebastian Kuntsson expressed that, “We really tried to fine tune the game we have and add new approaches. ”Contenting on, “We took the best bits of several match-three games and combined them into something much stronger… All that incremental innovation created an almost perfect game, which we really didn’t understand when we started off.”
Candy Crush had contributed to approximately 80 percent of KDE’s gross revenues last year and continues to remain as one of the words highest grossing mobile game.
