The first full trailer for FX’s American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson has finally arrived.
The upcoming miniseries, which is executive produced by American Horror Story’s Ryan Murphy, is based off of the book The Run Of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin. The story depicts the events of the O.J. Simpson murder trial from the perspective of the lawyers.
FX’s website provides the following description for the series:
It explores the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court, and how a combination of prosecution overconfidence, defense shrewdness, and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.
The 60 second trailer gives glimpses of Cuba Gooding Jr. as Simpson, John Travolta and David Schwimmer as Simpson’s attorneys Robert Shapiro and Robert Kardashian, respectively, Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark, Courtney B. Vance as Simpson’s lawyer Johnnie Cochran, Selma Blair as Kris Jenner, and Connie Britton as Nicole Brown Simpson’s friend Faye Resnick.
The cast also includes Jordana Brewster, Cheryl Ladd, Nathan Lane, Steven Pasquale, Billy Magnussen, Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Evan Handler.
The ten-part miniseries will premiere on FX on February 2nd at 9pm CST.
