It’s a light week for new music releases, but if you are a 3 Doors Down fan, you are in luck!
Here are the new releases in the world of music this week:
Three Doors Down “Time Of My Life”
This is the fifth studio album from the Mississippi band and they all say this one is for the fans.
Lead singer Brad Arnold describes it this way, “Friends, road warriors, band of brothers, call us whatever you want. What makes me so proud of this album is how it seems to put a stamp on all the years, all the ups and downs we’ve been through, and cuts some new ground for us. No matter where we’re at or how we come at you, at our core is still the burning desire to give our fans the best we can give.”
311 “Universal Pulse”
This is my favorite of the week. The ska-sounding band releases it’s 10th full album.
Produced by Bob Rock (who also did the last album from 311-“Uplifter”- and has worked with bands such as Metallica, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, The Cult, Our Lady Peace and The Offspring), this album has been described as sounding more like the band’s live sound. That is a good thing.
They Might Be Giants “Join Us”
The alternative pop/rock duo formed in 1982 by John Linnell and John Flansburgh is back! The band are most renowned for their hit single “Birdhouse in Your Soul”.
They Might Be Giants became one of the most unlikely alternative success stories of the late ’80s and early ’90s and this collection of songs will definitely satisfy fans from “back in the day” as well get the interest of “newbies”.
By the way, you are probably familiar with the theme song from the popular TV show “Malcolm In The Middle”. Remember “Boss Of Me”? That was They Might Be Giants.
One other release to mention.
While it is not new, it is a new version. Rush’s album “Roll The Bones” is being issued as a USA only 24 karat gold pressing. Yes, the full length is made of REAL gold.
This was Rush’s 14th studio album released back in 1991. If you don’t remember, this is the collection that had such songs as “Bravado,” “Ghost Of A Chance,” “Roll the Bones” and “Dreamline” with the former reaching #1 on the US Mainstream Rock chart, while “Where’s My Thing” was Grammy nominated for Best Rock Instrumental.
