In case you were in the market for new music, here is your choice of brand spanking new releases:
1) “Bon Iver” by Bon Iver. This new release is getting all the buzz. The band dates back to 2007 and was founded by indie-songwriter Justin Vernon. If you are a fan, you might remember the debut album For Emma,Forever Ago. If you don’t remember (or didn’t know of Bon Iver) here’s a refresher:
Other choices-
2) “The Light Of The Sun” by Jill Scott. Let me say right away that I AM a Jill Scott fan so I was really looking forward to this one. That, and she has a duet with Paul Wall on the album- how cool is that? If you are looking for something “powerful” and you dig Jill Scott- check this one out.
3) “Modern Love” by Matt Nathanson. As he prepares for his upcoming tour with Maroon 5 and Train, Nathanson releases his 7th album. I read in an interview that Nathanson described his songwriting for this collection as follows: “I was listening to a ton of ’80s music like Echo and the Bunnymen and Tears for Fears. That was the idea for this record, to sound like that.”
Interesting.
And, if you are in a silly mood…Weird Al..yes, THAT Weird Al releases “Alpocalypse”- his first full length album in 5 years!
Al parodies everyone including Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, B.O.B and Lady Gaga. Check it out-
