Explosions Rock Boston Marathon, Multiple People Killed

4:22pm – FOX 26 Houston reports authorities shut down cellular service in the Boston area in order to prevent remote detonations.

3:53pm – Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis says an explosion has occurred at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library about half an hour ago. The event is not expected to be related.

3:33pm – FAA has cleared all air traffic over Boston Marathon route.

3:26pm – FOX News confirms two undetonated devices have been found. Bomb squad currently working to dismantle devices. Law enforcement officials confirm explosions were bombs.

3:04pm – The New York Post is reporting 12 dead.  Reports of multiple undetonated devices found in surrounding area. Relatives of the victims of the Newton, Connecticut shooting were in the crowd in a VIP area. Not currently known if any of the relatives were among the casualties of the blast.

2:55pm – FOX News reporting at least three people dead.  Dozens injured in blast.

Multiple people have been injured after two explosions have rocked the finish line at the Boston Marathon.  The source or cause of these explosions are still unknown.

Competitors and spectators were seen screaming and crying as they fled the chaos.  Those injured by the blast have been sent to a medical tent originally reserved for fatigued competitors.

“I was right there, I saw a plume of smoke coming from a building,” said FOX 25’s Maria Stephanos.  A photographer from a FOX 25 photographer reported multiple victims with a loss of limbs.

Counter-terrorism crews are being put on high alert throughout the country.
