A warrant has been issued in Texas for the arrest of Cameron Thomaz, aka. Wiz Khalifa, after the rapper failed to appear in court.
Court records indicate that the 26-year-old was suppose to be present for his arraignment in an El Paso County court on Wednesday, but neither Khalifa nor his attorney were present. As a result, Judge Ricardo Herrera issued a warrant for the rapper’s arrest.
The whole situation stems from an incident at El Paso International Airport when Khalifa was leaving a local music festival and was found in possession of a small canister of marijuana (less than two ounces) at the airport. He was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and was released from jail after posting a $300 bail.
The incident quickly became a viral sensation though when Khalifa decided to sneak a selfie while in custody, prompting an investigation into jailhouse security.
It is unclear if the rapper plans to turn himself in.
