Sigfried and Roy said goodbye to their beloved white tiger and star of their Las Vegas show, Mantecore, when he passed away on March 19th.
Mantecore was the famous white tiger Sigfried and Roy had as a part of their show at The Mirage Resort & Casino. The famous Sigfried and Roy show in Las Vegas ended in 2003 when Mantecore attacked Roy Horn’s neck halfway through a sold-out performance in October 2003 and was hospitalized. Since the incident Horn has long forgiven the animal and is deeply sadden to release a statement on their website to fans that their beloved tiger has passed away at the age of 17.
Mantecore had been living at the Siegfried & Roy Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage hotel. The duo raised the beloved tiger since he was a cub developing a close relationship with their tiger. Horn goes on to describe how Mantecore” was one of a litter of three cubs born to a first time Mother, and that Roy ended up saving Mantecore’s life when he almost found him lifeless and had to give him mouth to mouth.
Mantecore passed away at the age of 17 due a short illness on March 19th and Roy wants fans to remember good memories about Mantecore and to not be saddened with this news.
