Actor Anwan Glover, known for his role as Slim Charles on The Wire, was reportedly stabbed and beaten at Café Asia in Washington D.C early Sunday morning.
Glover told officials that he was on the second floor of the nightclub when an unknown person punched him. When the actor turned to face his assailant, another person struck him in the back of the head, causing him to slip on the wet floor and fall to the ground. The actor claims that after he had been kicked multiple times, before hearing voices shout, “He has a knife,” and suddenly feeling a sharp pain in his right side.
A D.C police spokesman told The Wrap that Glover was being treated for a laceration on the right side of his torso at George Washington University Hospital. An update on his condition has yet to be released.
Glover has a history with violent crimes. Reportedly, the actor had been shot 13 times when he was younger in Columbia Heights. His brother was shot and killed in D.C in 2007, and his son was wounded in a shooting that took place at a party in 2011.
