On last night’s Late Show, David letterman interviewed Fault in our Stars actress Shailene Woodley for over three minutes about her clay-eating habit.
Woodley is known for her nature-loving ways, and eating clay, or using it as her toothpaste, is only but one of her many unconventional methods to be one with nature.
“Clay is one of my favorites because if you look at certain indigenous cultures around the world, people are eating clay almost daily,” she explained to a perplexed Letterman. “It’s just a part of their diet.” She continues explaining the benefits of eating clay. “Pregnant woman in a lot of other countries eat clay too, because it’s really good their bodies while the babies growing and whatnot. Look it up! It’s really interesting!”
“Clay binds to other materials in your body and helps your body excrete those materials, that are not necessarily the best for you, like toxins and heavy metals” Woodley elaborated.
