At his fourth annual gala and fundraiser, “Sean Penn & Friends Help Haiti Home,” Sean Penn raised $6 million for his J/P Haitian Relief Organization Saturday night alongside girlfriend Charlize Theron at the Montage Beverly Hills. The organization focuses on continuing to rebuild Haiti after the country was hit by an earthquake back in 2010.
Many stars were in attendance, including Reese Witherspoon, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Ben Stiller, Salma Hayek, Rainn Wilson, Adrien Brody, Rachel Zoe, Josh Hutcherson, Harvey Weinstein, and former U.S. President Bill Clinton. Coldplay’s Chris Martin performed, as well as the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Some items that were offered up for auction included a private concert by Chris Martin, which sold for $400,000. Ben Stiller was the winning bidder on a Rachel Zoe fashion experience, which he purchased for $150,000. Three trips to Haiti with Penn and Clinton went for $500,000 each.
Lynne and Marc Benioff presented the event, which was sponsored by Jeep and NRG Energy Company. Douglas Brinkley served as emcee for the night.
