Prince William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are just moments away from becoming parents. This morning the Kensington Palace announced that Kate is experiencing a normal labor and the child, who could one day become King or Queen, will be born very soon.
The couple traveled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital, Prince William’s office at Clarence House announced at 7:37 a.m. (1:37 a.m. CST). This is the same hospital that Princess Diana gave birth to Princes William and Harry in 1982 and 1984, respectively.
Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton, is expected to be alongside the duchess during the birth.
The baby’s name, sex and birth weight will be announced on a notice board at Buckingham Palace after the royal couple has left the hospital. Prince William’s name was not announced until a few days after his birth while Harry’s was announced as Charles and Diana left the hospital.
