Robert Downey Jr. Leads Forbes’ Highest-Paid Actors List
For the second consecutive year, Robert Downey Jr. is Hollywood’s highest paid actor with estimated earnings of $75 million last year, according to Forbes.com.
Downey accumulated a majority of his wealth from the box office success of Iron Man 3. The film debuted in theaters in May 2013, but continued bringing in revenue for months, making more than $1.2 billion at the global box office.
Forbes.com expressed, “As Iron Man, he’s the driving force behind four of Marvel’s biggest hits, including The Avengers.”
Following behind Downey is former wrestler and Hercules star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who jumped from fifth to second place with earnings of $52 million, followed by Hangover and Guardians of the Galaxy star Bradley Cooper, who earned $46 million.
The Wolf of Wall Street star Leonardo DiCaprio came in fourth with $39 million and Thor actor Chris Hemsworth came in fifth with $37 million.
Rounding out the list is Liam Neeson ($36 million), Ben Affleck ($35 millions), Christian Bale ($35 million), Will Smith ($32 million) and Mark Wahlberg ($32 million).
