Prince’s Estate to Open for Public Tours This Fall

Prince’s estate may become the new Graceland!

Paisley Park, Prince’s private estate and recording studio located in the Minneapolis suburb of Chanhassen, will open as a museum on October 6, 2016 and daily tours will be offered, Bremer Trust, the administrator of the “Purple Rain” singer’s estate, revealed Wednesday. Graceland Holdings, the company that runs Elvis Presley’s Graceland, will be in charge of the tours.

“Opening Paisley Park is something that Prince always wanted to do and was actively working on,” Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson said in Bremer Trust’s press release. “Only a few hundred people have had the rare opportunity to tour the estate during his lifetime. Now, fans from around the world will be able to experience Prince’s world for the first time as we open the doors to this incredible place.”

“The new Paisley Park museum will offer fans a unique experience, an exhibition like no other, as Prince would have wanted it,” Prince’s siblings said in a statement. “Most important, the museum will display Prince’s genius, honor his legacy, and carry forward his strong sense of family and community.”

Tours through the complex will include a look at Prince’s editing and rehearsal rooms, a soundstage, a concert hall, and more. Some of Prince’s wardrobe, awards, musical instruments, automobiles, and memorabilia will also be on display.

The complex is where Prince passed away from a drug overdose earlier this year.
