Porsche GT Paul Walker Died In May Have Malfunctioned

New reports are indicating that the cause of the violent crash that killed Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas on Saturday may have been caused by a mechanical malfunction.

The 2005 Porsche GT Rodas was driving at the time of the crash may have had a steering fluid leak.  Sources at Always Evolving, an auto shop co-owned by Walker and Rodas, say they saw evidence of a steering fluid burst and leak before the skidmarks at the accident scene.  Since the skidmarks are in a straight line, instead of swerving, there is a possibility that the driver (Rodas) had no control of the vehicle at the time of impact.

What is also unusual is the fire at the front of the vehicle.  Since the Porsche GT has a rear-mounted engine, you’d expect the fire to come from the rear of the vehicle.  Instead, the fire quickly spread from the front of the vehicle, further reinforcing the theory of a steering fluid leak.

Police are currently investigating the matter.
