After eight months of separation, Paula Patton has filed for divorce from her “Blurred Lines” husband Robin Thicke.
Within the paperwork, which cites “irreconcilable difference” as a cause, it includes joint custody over the couple’s 4-year-old son, Julian.
The two were high school sweethearts and married in 2005. Earlier this year, following the singer’s rumored infidelity, the couple separated. The Hollywood Reporter exclusively released the April deposition for a copyright dispute over the song “Blurred Lines” last month. In it, Thicke tells a prosecutor that he does not consider himself to be “an honest person.”
“No. That’s why I’m separated,” he said. “I told my wife the truth. That’s why she left me.”
The American-Canadian singer made several attempts to woo Patton back, making public apologies, as well as even dedicating a whole album to her. The album featured the risqué single “Get Her Back,” which was accompanied with a music video that included text messages of a Paula-inspired conversation.
