Michael Jace Pleads Not Guilty to Murder Charge in Shooting Death of Wife

The Shield actor Michael Jace, has plead not guilty to a murder charge in the May 19th shooting and death of his Wife, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.

The actor was arrested when LAPD responded to a 911 call directing authorities to the couple’s home in Hyde Park. Jace has been held in jail in lieu of $2 million since the arrest, and was officially charged with murder during his initial court appearance on May 22.

Police have yet to release a motive behind Jace’s actions but are currently investigation whether financial or other domestic issues were possibly involved. Attorneys have stated the case is still in early stages and the investigation is on going.

The body of April Jace was found dead in the hallway with multiple gunshot wounds after the actor reportedly called 911 and admitted he had shot his wife.

Michael and April, a counselor in the financial aid office of Biola University, had been married nine years prior to the incident. A stamen released from the family of April states, “We canot reverse the senseless violence that resulted in April’s death but we can invest in the lives of her innocent children that are paying the price.”

Jace will remain in police custody with a preliminary hearing set for August 1st.
