Is Jimmy Fallon’s Partying Getting Out Of Hand?
After injuring himself for the third time in four months, NBC executives are reportedly worried about The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon and his partying habits.
Fallon’s most recent injury was on October 24th in Cambridge, Massachusetts, when he tripped and dropped a bottle of Jägermeister at an after party. The comedian, who was there to receive the Harvard Lampoon’s Elmer Award for Excellence in Humor, was sent to a nearby hospital to get stitched and bandaged up.
“I threw the bottle and then I landed on broken glass,” a bandaged Fallon said on his show the following Monday. “There [were] pools of blood everywhere.”
Sources say NBC is worried that his drinking has become out of hand. An industry insider told the New York Post that while the studio is not doing anything about his behavior at the moment, “it’s gone from being a whisper to a chatter.”
Back in June, Fallon severed his finger after tripping on a rug at his luxurious Gramercy Park home and catching his wedding ring on a table corner. “Tripped and caught my fall (good thing)!” he tweeted that day. “Ring caught on side of table almost ripped my finger off (bad thing).”

Two months later, Fallon chipped his tooth while trying to tend to his injured finger. He posted a selfie on Instagram of his trip to the dentist for an emergency procedure to fix his smile.
“Chipped front tooth trying to open tube of scar tissue repair gel for recovering finger injury. Thank you Dr. Jobe DDS! #BestSummerEver,” he wrote.
While it is still unclear whether the rumors are true, the latest reports follow Fallon’s recent contract renewal with NBC back in August, which extended The Tonight Show until 2021. The network released this statement about Fallon and his excellent work “on and off camera.”
“Jimmy Fallon is a highly valued member of the NBC family who is both a tireless worker and an extraordinarily gifted performer. His dedication in putting on a great show each and every night is unparalleled, and that is reflected in the large amount of viewers who tune in — he frequently outrates the broadcast competition combined. We are proud of his accomplishments on and off camera and look forward to working with him for many years to come.”
