FBI Raids Home of Subway Spokesman Jared Fogle

FBI and Indiana State Police raided the home of Subway restaurant spokesman Jared Fogle on Tuesday. Electronic equipment was taken from Fogle’s home and was analyzed for suspicion of child pornography.This is two months after FBI agents raided the home of Russel Taylor, then executive director of the Jared Foundation, on counts of child pornography. The Jared Foundation was created by Fogle to help combat childhood obesity.

Taylor now faces seven counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. Authorities were notified by a women Taylor was explicitly texting when Taylor offered to send pictures of kids. Jared cut ties with Russel once he was charged for his acts.

Fogel’s attorney, Ronald Elberger stated:

Jared has been cooperating, and continues to cooperate, with law enforcement in its investigation of certain unspecified activities and looks forward to its conclusion.

FOX News contacted Subway Headquarters for comment. The company replied:

We are shocked about the news and believe it is related to a prior investigation of a former Jared Foundation employee… We are very concerned and will be monitoring the situation closely. We don’t have any more details at this point.

Yet according to the Associated Press, Subway has started distancing themselves from Jared Fogle. Subway’s website started rerouting “Jared’s Journey” page by linking it back to its home page. “Jared’s Journey” included Fogle’s story of how he lost 250 lbs and linked to The Jared Foundation.

Not only did Subway reroute the pages, they also removed photos, quotes, and info of Fogle from its page. Subway stated that Jared Fogle and Subway “have mutually agreed to suspend their relationship due to the current investigation.”
