Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is the biggest box office draw, no question! It shouldn’t be a surprise that he is already considered to be one of the greatest action stars of the 2000’s through now.

Well now the most electrifying man in film has been nominated to the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Dwayne Johnson was one of 34 nominees to be giving this honor, including are Grammy winner John Legend, and actor/rapper Ice Cube.

Johnson is mostly known as former WWE wrestler ‘The Rock’. One of the most recognizable figures in sports entertainment, gaining several titles and being one of the corner stones during wrestling’s “Attitude Era”. Dwayne started to gravitate towards a movie career starting with The Mummy Returns, which later transformed into his first leading role in The Scorpion King.

Since then he has starred in The Rundown, The Game Plan, Hercules, and San Andreas. Dwayne’s most popular contribution to action films would be portraying Luke Hobbs in the Fast and Furious franchise.

Johnson, while a born action star, has been known to gravitate to comedy. Dwayne currently has one of the highest grossing comedy’s in theaters, Central Intelligence. The combination with Kevin Hart has payed dividends grossing $69.2 million in two weeks. His next film will be Disney’s Moana which hits theaters on November 23, 2016.

The Hollywood Walk of Famer doesn’t stop there, as he has three movies slated for release in 2017! Those include the next installment in the Fast and Furious franchise, Fast 8, the film adaptation of the popular lifeguard show Baywatch, and Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon.
