Django Unchained actress Daniele Watts was handcuffed last week after police got a call for “indecent exposure” between a male and a female.
Watts was handcuffed by police outside of the CBS studios in Studio City, California after she refused to show identification. Police got reports for indecent exposure between a male and female inside of a silver Mercedes with the vehicle door open. Police approached Watts and her boyfriend, Brian Lucas, for the alleged PDA when they arrived to the studios.
Lucas provided his ID when the officer asked for it, but Watts refused to present her ID because Watts claims she knew she didn’t do anything wrong. Since she refused to show her identification Watts said she was placed inside a squad car until Lucas provided her ID to the officer. Lucas recorded Watts crying and handcuffed by police as she try’s to explain to the officer that they were only kissing.
LAPD released a written statement Sunday evening confirming that no crime was committed by Watts and Lucas and that officers were simply responding to a “citizen complaint of indecent exposure”.
A spokeswoman for LAPD also added that “an internal complaint investigation has been initiated regarding this matter.”
