‘Dick Van Dyke Show’ and ‘The Nanny’ Star Ann Morgan Guilbert Dies at 87
Actress Ann Morgan Guilbert, known for her roles on The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Nanny, passed away Tuesday from cancer at the age of 87.
Guilbert portrayed neighbor Millie Helper on The Dick Van Dyke Show in the 1960s. Decades later, she found another memorable role as Grandma Yetta on The Nanny in the 1990s. Over the span of her career, she made guest appearances on various television shows, including Seinfeld, Modern Family, The Andy Griffith Show, and Emergency!. In recent years, she starred in the HBO comedy Getting On and appeared on Life in Pieces and Grey’s Anatomy.
She also had a career in the theater, appearing in productions such as A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, The Matchmaker, Arsenic and Old Lace, Waiting for Godot, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Harvey.
Guilbert married twice in her life. She is survived by two daughters from her first marriage to late producer-actor George Eckstein: actress Hallie Todd (Lizzie McGuire) and acting instructor Nora Eckstein.
