News broke this week on Amber Heard filling for divorce from Johnny Depp. The marriage lasted only 15 months, citing irreconcilable differences. The split occurred only a few days after Depp’s mother, Betty Sue Palmer, passed away from a long term illness. But more information has come out and it’s turning out to be more than another unsuccessful Hollywood marriage.
E! News has reported that Heard has gone to court and filled a domestic violence restraining order against the Pirates of the Caribbean star, only a few days after she filled for divorce. In the request, she presented the court a photo showing a bruise on her right eye.

The media conglomerate reached out to Amber’s representatives before the photo was released to ask why the divorce was filled while Depp was out promoting Alice Through the Looking Glass. The reps responded stating that “This is not about right now. It’s an ongoing thing that she needs protection from. She did what she had to do to protect herself..It wasn’t an easy decision, but this is the truth. It was very hard for her.”.
Depp’s reps have also released a comment on Thursday stating that “Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”
Both sides have yet to comment on the photo and the restraining order. We will update as the story develops.
