Clint Eastwood’s second wife, Dina Eastwood, has filed for divorce from the 83-year-old actor after 17 years of marriage.
The 48-year-old journalist turned reality star cited irreconcilable differences in the divorce papers filed on Tuesday in Monterey County, CA. The news comes only a month after Dina filed for legal separation from Clint, where she petitioned for spousal support and full physical custody of their 16-year-old daughter.
Since April, there have been reports of their marriage being “on the rocks.” Some reports claim the couple have been split as long as last year.
The two began dating after Dina Ruiz was assigned to interview Clint in 1993. Three years later, Clint and Dina got married on March 31, 1996 at a private ceremony on the Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas. He is 35 years her senior.
After their wedding Dina commented, “The fact that I am only the second woman he has married really touches me,” since Eastwood reportedly has the reputation of being a womanizer. He even admitted in a post wedding interview that, “as far as I’m concerned, this is the woman I like monogamy with.”
There have been no reports of infidelity by either parties at the moment. The couple is reported to have a prenuptial in place, but the details to that agreement have yet to be revealed.
Clint Eastwood was married to his first wife, Maggie Johnson, from 1953 to 1984.
