The second wife of director and actor Clint Eastwood has filed for legal separation and custody of the couple’s 16-year-old daughter.
On Monday, Dina Eastwood filed a petition in Monterey County Superior Court for spousal support and custody of their daughter Morgan after 17 years of marriage. The petition indicates that the couple has a prenuptial agreement in place, but the details to that agreement have yet to be revealed.
The Eastwoods have not publicly announced the cause of their split, but it was a long time in the making. Last month, US Weekly reported that the couple made an amicable split more than a year ago, while TMZ reported in April that their marriage was “on the rocks.”
The couple began dating after Dina Ruiz was assigned to interview him in 1993. Three years late, Clint and Dina got married on March 31, 1996 at a private ceremony on the Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas. He is 35 years her senior.
After their wedding Dina commented, “The fact that I am only the second woman he has married really touches me,” since Eastwood reportedly has the reputation of being a womanizer. He even admitted in a post wedding interview that, “as far as I’m concerned, this is the woman I like monogamy with.”
Now we can only speculate the reason the couple decided to split. Your thoughts?
