Charlie Sheen Changes Name Back To Carlos Estevez

The past few years have been a whirlwind for actor Charlie Sheen.  If you didn’t know him from PlatoonScary Movie 4, or Two And A Half Men, you surely knew him after the legal dilemmas and a very public outcry of his self proclaimed “winning.”  However, a new name may be permanently associated with Sheen.

Charlie Sheen has recently decided to change his name back to his original birth name: Carlos Irwin Estévez. The reason for this? The actor is currently involved in the production Machete Kills, directed by Robert Rodriguez. The film is the sequel to the original Rodriguez movie Machete.

It is believed that since the movie is directed towards the latino crowd, Sheen decided to go “FULL latino in Machete Kills.” Ironically, in a 2012 Univision interview on the subject of his heritage, Sheen is quoted saying, “I don’t wake up feeling Latino. I’m a white guy in America, I was born in New York and grew up in Malibu.”

Whatever the cause for Sheen’s move, it is still unclear if he will stick with the name permanently.  Did he finally reach his roots or will he turn out the same wishy-washy actor that we all know? Leave your thoughts in a comment below!
