Casey Kasem to be Removed from Life Support

The children of iconic DJ Casey Kasem have made the decision to withhold medication, fluids and food from their father.

Kasem’s children revealed to TMZ the heath directive document of their father which states, “If the extension of my life would result in mere biological existence, devoid of cognitive function, with no reasonable hope for normal functioning, then I do not desire any form of life-sustaining procedures, including nutrition and hydration.”

After an interminable court battle, Superior Court Judge Daniel Murphy reversed the ruling that required doctors to keep the 82-year-old alive with medication and nourishment, making it legal for his daughter to make the decision to stop life support.

Kasem is currently in a Washington hospice facility.
