Bobby Brown Sentenced to 55 Days In Jail for DUI

Bobby Brown has been sentenced to 55 days in jail for charges stemming from an October 24th DUI arrest in Los Angeles.  The 44-year-old singer was reportedly pulled over after  an officer noticed him driving erratically and smelled “a strong scent of alcohol” in the vehicle.

Brown plead no contest to two charges stemming from the arrest: driving under the influence and driving on a suspended the license.  His license had already been suspended from a DUI conviction in March 2012.  Today’s breaking news make this DUI conviction his third (he was previously convicted in 1996 for DUI as well).

Not only must Brown spend 55 days in a Los Angeles jail, but he must pay over $800 in fines, complete an 18 month alcohol program, have an interlock device placed in his car and put on 48 months of probation for the first charge as well as 36 months of summary probation for the second.

Whether these charges will have a positive impact on Bobby Brown is still yet to be found.

After his March 2012 sentencing a friend of Brown’s family told RadarOnline, “They’re not sure if he was ever serious about conquering his demons and have voiced their concerns.”

Now, according to TMZ, Bobby “understands that drinking has become a big problem.”
