Bobbi Kristina Brown Dead At 22

Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, has passed away at the age of 22 on Sunday in an Atlanta-area hospice. She had previously been receiving treatment at North Fulton Hospital then Emory Hospital in Atlanta, known for it’s world class neurological department.

The Houston family announced the news via a statement from their rep: “Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family,” the statement says. “She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”

Bobbi Kristina’s death comes 6 months after she was found facedown in the bathtub by her husband, Nick Gordon, and a friend in their Roswell, Georgia home the morning of January 31st.

On the following Sunday, Roswell Police reported on their Facebook page that Gordon “started CPR and a police officer took over life-saving saving measures until an ambulance arrived.” Upon arriving at the hospital, Brown was placed in a medically-induced coma with the help of a ventilator, however she still remained unresponsive. That coma would last seven months.

After being transferred from Emory Hospital to a hospice facility on June 24th, Pat Houston, the aunt of Bobbi, released a statement to E! News saying, “Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate. As of today, she has been moved into hospice care. We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now.”

Born March 4th, 1993, Brown furthered her career as an American reality television star, media personality and singer.

Following her mother’s tragic passing, a source told PEOPLE that “It’s been a difficult time for Bobbi Kristina, who’s struggled in the years after her mother’s death.” She was hospitalized for depression and also reportedly battled with a drinking problem shortly after.

Houston, was found in a bathtub in Los Angeles after an accidental drowning caused by a combination of drug use and heart disease the night before the Grammys in 2012.

“I still feel her everywhere,” Brown said on the 2012 reality show The Houstons: On Our Own. “She’s still around me and that’s what keeps me comfortable, is knowing that my best friend, my everything, is still with me.”
