Actress Shirley Temple Dies at 85
1930’s box office film star Shirley Temple Black passed away Monday night at the age of 85 in her San Francisco home.
Temples family released a statement saying, “We salute her for a life of remarkable achievements as an actor, as a diplomat, and most importantly as our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and adored wife for fifty-five years of the late and much missed Charles Alden Black,”
To this day Temple is the youngest person to receive and Academy Award and has been credited with helping save the 20th Century Fox film studio from bankruptcy with films such as Stand Up,Curly Top, Bright Eyes and Cheer.
The late actress was also active in politics and held numerous diplomatic post in Republican administration such as ambassador to Czechoslovakia.
Temple died of natural causes.
