2 Chainz Charged With Felony Drug Possession

Ten months after his arrest, 2 Chainz, real name Tauheed Epps, has been charged with felony drug possession.  If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison.

In June of 2013, Epps was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport for the possession of the main ingredient in sizzurp, Promethazine.

Around 1 p.m. that day, LAX police officers responded to a narcotics investigation in the baggage check area were they found the rapper with marijuana and a bottle of Promethazine with Codeine in his checked bag.

The 35-year old was aboard an outbound flight when he was removed from the aircraft and arrested for California Penal Code Section 11350a H&S. Epps was then transported to the LAX police station where he went through preliminary processing, and from there, was transported and booked to the LAPD Pacific Division Jail without incident.

A year prior, Epps’ was arrested at NYC’s LaGuardia Airport for carrying brass knuckles in his carry-on bag.

The rapper is scheduled to be arraigned next week.
