The hit HBO show Succession returns for season three on Oct. 17, the network confirmed Monday.
The show will pick up right where it left off in season two. The Roy family will confront the fallout of Kendall (Jeremy Strong) turning on media mogul patriarch Logan (Brian Cox) in a dramatic press conference that shifted the balance of power within the family.
HBO’s teaser for the newest season promises a plethora of in-fighting and scheming. Newly released posters for the season hammer home the “pick a side” theme.
The social media campaign has been a strategic one for the show. There are two different posters for the show on Twitter and Instagram, making it difficult to distinguish who is on whose side.
Succession has taken hold of the power vacuum left in the wake of Game of Thrones as HBO’s marquee show. It won seven Emmys for season two, including outstanding drama.
Its cast has also grown. The principal cast will be joined by the likes of Alexander Skarsgård, Sanaa Lathan, Linda Emond, Jihae, Adrien Brody, Hope Davis and Dasha Nekrasova.
