The Suicide Squad: Cast Reveal & Behind the Scenes Look

“A twisted fantasy inside of a 1970’s war movie”

These are the words that described the movie during the ‘The Suicide Squad” panel portion of DC Fandome. Only five years removed from a similarly titled movie (2016’s Suicide Squad), James Gunn holds the reigns for the reimagined property at Warner Bro. Studios coming only to theaters August 6th, 2021.

The beginning of “The Suicide Squad” panel introduced James Gunn to answer fan submitted questions. Questions about the source material, adaptations or changes, characters announcements, and more. Ultimately the fans, including myself, wanted to know, “Are you invested? Do you care about these characters? Should we trust this reboot?”

James Gunn took these questions in stride and proved to those tuning in around the world, that he is a fan. Not only is he a fan, but he is a fan who wants the source material to be done justice. He then introduced the world to the official first look at the cast of characters in The Suicide Squad.

The cast and James Gunn answered a few questions and played a few games that revealed a peek at the chemistry behind and on set. While the stories and the special effects of these super hero movies may be premiere, sometimes the camaraderie behind the scenes can be stale. Uncomfortable. Misconstrued. However, if this game proves anything, is that James Gunn was able to steer the cast towards each other, as a family.

Last but not least, James Gunn released a behind the scenes look and granted us the first images and video of The Suicide Squad. I was intrigued before, but I am thoroughly excited now. August 6th can’t come soon enough!
