A Modern Dracula Movie Is Being Made Thanks to The Invisible Man’s Success

Universal is rebuilding its Monsterverse after it was left for dead due to disappointing box office results with 2017’s The Mummy.  Now with the success of The Invisible Man the studio is changing course and bringing one of its most iconic characters back to the big screen.

Karyn Kusama has been tapped to bring Dracula back to life with Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions producing a script by Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay.

Similar to The Invisible Man, the movie will be a contemporary spin on the classic H.G. Wells novel set in modern times.

Kusama is no stranger to horror with multiple projects under her belt including the cult classic Jennifer’s Body and The Outsider, a HBO show based on the Stephen King horror-crime novel.
