Comedy Central announced today that Stan, Kyle, Eric and Kenny will continue to create mischief through at least 2016.
The network announced that co-creators Trey Park and Matt Stone will continue to write, direct and edit the Emmy- and Peabody Award-winning show, just like they have since the series began in 1997.
“The collective genius of Matt and Trey knows no bounds,” said Comedy Central President Michele Ganeless. “Week after week and season after season they continue to surprise and delight ‘South Park’ fans, and that includes all of us here at Comedy Central. We’re thrilled that the adventures of Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman will continue through 2016.”
An all-new episode of ‘South Park’ premieres tonight at 9:00 p.m. Tonight’s episode will be the finale for the show’s 15th season. Season 16 will begin in April 2012.
