Though a niche market at the moment, 4K UHD releases tend to favor Hollywood’s most recent films. There are some exceptions with Sony Pictures’ releasing The Fifth Element or Warner Bros. announcing that the Peanuts Holiday specials would make their 4K debut this fall.
But for those who have taken the plunge into watching content in 4K do we have some news for you today. Lionsgate will debut James Cameron’s iconic action film Terminator 2: Judgement Day in 4K UHD this October 3rd!
Not only will it be available as a 4K UHD / Blu-ray combo release, it will also arrive in a Limited Collector’s Edition EndoArm box set! Arguably one of the greatest action films of all time, the Collector’s Edition will have a total number of 6,000 sets.
It’s “hasta la vista” standard definition as Cameron’s film comes with full HD and High Dynamic Range with its first-ever 4K scan. The release comes jammed with bonus content, including a NEW 55-minute retrospective documentary featuring new interviews with James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger among others.
