If you recall our coverage of Arrival before it released nationally, then you already know that it is a beautiful piece of cinema. Having been named one of the best pictures of the year by the American Film Institute, National Board of Review, and publications like the New York Times, director Denis Villeneuve’s (Sicario) sci-fi drama is about to wow audiences on the small screen.
Paramount Pictures has announced that both the 4K UHD and Blu-ray Combo Packs will hit store shelves on February 14, 2017.
In Arrival, Amy Adams plays expert translator Louise Banks. When a dozen mysterious spacecrafts start hovering over select locations around the globe, the U.S. military calls on her skill set to help determine what “they” may want. Helping her is Jeremy Renner as a brilliant mathematician. Together they race against time to decipher and interpret their language in an effort to avert a global world war.
Both the 4K UHD and Blu-ray releases will include five behind-the-scenes featurettes which overview the film’s subject matter, sound design, and score.
Bonus content includes the following.
Xenolinguistics: Understanding Arrival
Acoustic Signatures: The Sound Design
Eternal Recurrence: The Score
Nonlinear Thinking: The Editorial Process
Principles of Time, Memory & Language
