‘The Conjuring 2’: Listen To The Real Enfield Poltergeist Tapes

The most anticipated horror movie of 2016, The Conjuring 2, is just around the corner – and now you can listen to the real tapes from the world’s most documented poltergeist incident.

Just like its predecessor, the sequel is based on the next true story from the case files of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who are portrayed in the films by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.

In the sequel to the 2013 blockbuster horror, “paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren travel to 1977 England to help single mom Peggy Hodgson and her four children, particularly daughter Janet (played by Madison Wolfe)” from malicious spirits. The film will open with The Amityville Horror Case and then lead into the infamous horror story of the Enfield Poltergeist.

To further increase anticipation, Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema shared a clip on their social media of real audio recordings from The Warren Files – which are said to be potentially “dangerous” to those who listen.

It begins: “The following is taken from the recordings of The Warren Files. These inspired the true events from The Conjuring 2. Listening to these tapes can be dangerous. Envision yourself in a bright white flowing halo of light. Then ask God to protect you from anything evil or demonic in nature. It’s just a precaution Ed and Lorraine always used.”

Below is a clip from a BBC episode that includes real footage taken from the true case of the Enfield Poltergeist and paranormal investigator Maurice Grosse’s research from London, England. The host takes viewers into the haunted house and interviews those who have witnessed first-hand the paranormal activity.

“With levitation, furniture being moved through the air and flying objects swirling towards witnesses”, most of the activity centered on the youngest sister who often went into violent trances with an eerie male-like voice.

James Wan’s The Conjuring 2 will haunt theaters this Friday, June 10th.
