Last month Kanye West performed a show in London that included appearances from Raekwon, Big Sean, and a the performance of a new song with Vic Mensa called “U Mad”.
Last night the song was released via Vic Mensa’s Soundcloud. “U Mad” is a booming horn and synth production that fits with Kanye’s previous release of “All Day”.
It was unclear if this song would be on Kanye’s upcoming project “So Help Me God” but it is now clear that the song is Mensa’s but this still marks the sixth song Kanye has either released or been featured on this year with no release date for his new album in sight.
Some are speculating that, since West is one of the many high profile artists that are equity owners of Jay Z’s new streaming service TIDAL, perhaps one morning we could wake up and have the entire project available exclusively through the service.
Exclusive releases are one of the benefits TIDAL markets to new users. For example, Rihanna’s two latest singles since “FourFiveSeconds” (also a Kanye West song/production) “American Oxygen” and “Better Have My Money” are both exclusively available to stream exclusively on Tidal. Erykah Badu also released a short western film exclusively through the service.
