Lil Wayne is suing Birdman’s Cash Money Records for $51 million and to be released from his contract with the label.
Dwayne Carter, known as Lil Wayne, filed a 21-page lawsuit against Bryan “Birdman” Williams’ Cash Money Records, because the record label has reportedly refused to pay Lil Wayne tens of millions of dollars for his long-delayed album, Tha Carter V.

In addition for Carter wanting the record label company to pay him the $10 million owed, he is is seeking $51 million in damages. Carter has asked a judge to declare him the joint copyright holder of everything released on all Young Money Recordings, which includes Drake, Nicki Minaj, Christina Milian and many other artist on Wayne’s record label.
Last month Lil Wayne tweeted his frustration with Cash Money saying:
I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy
