LL Cool J’s upcoming album is set to feature guest verses from Eminem and T.I., according to an interview he did with RapUpTV.
“Me and Em have a song,” LL told Rap-Up. “He just recently let me hear his verse and it’s crazy. He’s chainsawin’ sh-t. It’s good, it’s good. I think people are gonna be pleasantly surprised when they hear me and him on a record together.”
This is the first time the two have ever teamed up to work together. “Things are going in the right direction,” he continued. “This is a record that I think people are gonna be excited. To miss out on this G.O.A.T. 2 album would be a travesty for hip-hop.”
His other songs are just as “crazy,” LL added. When asked about the track with T.I., he said, “It’s super hard. I think people are gonna bug out on [it]. It’s gonna be trippy.”
Currently, G.O.A.T. 2 does not have a release date. The first volume of G.O.A.T (“Greatest Of All Time”) came out back in September 2000. LL’s “legacy record” was last year’s Authentic, which featured the likes of Earth, Wing & Fire and Eddie Van Halen.
“This is for the culture now, and I think people are gonna love it,” said LL. “It’s about the beats and the bars and the rhymes. It’s about it being current and fresh and riveting, not a bunch of old, tired ’95 nugget ring bullsh-t. It’s newness. It’s fresh.”
