The Fray Brings ‘Helios Tour’ to Houston

Flashback 9 years to when The Fray performed in Houston, TX for the first time. It was 2005 and fresh off the release of the band’s debut album How to Save a Life, home of their breakout single “Over My Head (Cable Car).” Now fast forward to last night, June 29, when the soft-rocking group returned to town for a thrilling night of music featuring early-2000 hits and just-released jams and a tasty mixture of pop and rock music.

The evening was filled with old moments and hits like “You Found Me” and “Never Say Never (Don’t Let Me Go),” selects from The Fray’s self-titled, second studio album. And new moments were born, too. When the band dished out the live version of their brand-new single “Love Don’t Die,” it was like the song had as much history as their chart-topping records. Smacked nearly at the end of a 20-song setlist, the track had the venue roaring with sing-a-long fans.

Last night’s event also included show-starters Oh Honey and Barcelona. Two names dangling below headliner status, but making things rumble from underneath with live performances labeled outstanding. Together, these three acts brought the ‘Helios Tour’ to Bayou Music Center. Check out photos from the show below!
