One of the world’s biggest and greatest musicians will release two new albums soon.
After signing a new global licensing deal with Warner Bros. Records, Prince has revealed upcoming plans to unleash “long-awaited, previously unheard music.” The legendary rocker will release one album with his new band 3rdEyeGirl, titled Plectrum Electrum, as well as a digitally re-mastered deluxe version of his iconic 1984 album Purple Rain.
“A brand-new studio album is on the way,” said a press release discussing the upcoming plans, “and both Warner Bros. Records and Eye are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship.”
No release date has been announced for either of the forthcoming records but, with the 30th anniversary of Purple Rain only two months away, it’s safe to expect the albums to drop within that window.
Prince released his sixth studio album Purple Rain on June 25, 1984 via his long-time label Warner Bros. Records. The album is considered to be one of the best albums in music history.
