Last week the CW network revealed its lineup for next season, which includes a new series about DC Comics superhero The Flash.
The series will serve as a spinoff from CW’s other superhero show, Arrow. The Flash will have Grant Gustin taking on the lead role of Barry Allen, who previously appeared on Arrow back in November and was struck by lightning.
The CW released its first teaser for the new series, which aired during Arrow’s season finale last night. In the clip, Green Arrow (played by Stephen Amell) shoots an arrow, and The Flash uses his supersonic speed to catch it.
In addition to Gustin, The Flash will feature Danielle Panabaker and Carlos Valdez as members of S.T.A.R. Labs. John Wesley Shipp, who played the original Barry Allen in the ‘90s series, will also star in the series, along with Jesse L. Martin, Tom Cavanagh, and Candice Patton.
Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and director David Nutter of Arrow will serve as executive producers for The Flash. The pilot, which will be directed by Nutter, was written by Berlanti, Kreisberg, and DC Entertainment’s Geoff Johns. Melissa Kellner Berman will be a co-executive producer.
The Flash will air Tuesday nights this fall at 7pm CST.
