Pharrell Williams’ famous “Mountain” hat he debuted at the 2014 Grammys has a new owner.
Fast food chain Arby’s bided $44,100 for the trademark Vivienne Westwood “Mountain” hat that Pharrell wore to the 2014 Grammys, which resembles Arby’s trademark logo. The hat was auctioned off on eBay with all proceeds from the winning bidder donated to From One Hand To AnOTHER foundation. The auction ended on Oscar Sunday when the highest bidder was Arby’s, outbidding everyone else $44,100.
“Thank you to whoever bought my Grammy hat on @eBay for $44,100,” Pharrell tweeted. Arby’s tweeted the “Happy” singer back saying : “@Pharrell You’re welcome. We’re HAPPY to support a great cause & get our hat back. Good luck at the #Oscars tonight!”
Proceeds from the auction will benefit the non-profit organization From One Hand to Another, the charity founded by the musician, to help underserved youth between the ages of 7 and 20 in at risk communities throughout the country.
