Oscar wining director Quentin Tarantino is following up his critically acclaimed western Django Unchained with another western title, The Hateful Eight.
When questioned about the film during an interview with Jay Leno the director replied, ” I can’t talk that much about it, but I will say one thing. I haven’t told anyone about this publicly, but I will say the genre. It’s a Western.”
Tarantino continued, “It’s not a Django sequel, but it is another Western, and the thing is I had so much fun doing Django, and I love westerns so much, that after I taught myself how to make one, it’s like, ‘OK, now let me make another one now that I know what I’m doing’,”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, The Hateful Eight will feature a roll for Christoph Waltz, who has won Oscars for his previous performances in Tarantino’s Django Unchained and Inglorious Basterds. Also expected to be featured in the western is current Oscar contender Bruce Dern.
Reportedly, Tarantino hopes to begin production this summer, but there is no guarantee the film will open in theaters. The director is known for talking up numerous projects that fail to ever be released.
