Malcolm In The Middle star Frankie Muniz has revealed that he has suffered a second mini-stroke.
The 27-year-old actor broke the news on Twitter writing, “Almost a year to the day, I experienced another mini stroke. Hopefully that will be the last. Miserable.” It was only last December that the actor revealed he had suffered his first “mini-stroke.”
Muniz spoke of his experience with his first stroke on Good Morning America last December. “I couldn’t say words,” he said. “I thought I was saying them! And, my fiance was looking at me like I was speaking a foreign language.” He has been engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Elycia Marie Turnbow, since October 2011.
According to WebMD, a transient ischemic attack (TIA), aka “mini-stroke,” happens when blood flow to part of the brain is blocked or reduced, often by a blood clot. After a short time, blood flows again and the symptoms go away. With a stroke, the blood flow stays blocked, and the brain has permanent damage.
Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak recently suffered a transient ischemic attack.
