Tom Brady & Gisele Bundchen Shooting: Bodyguards Sent to Prison

Former bodyguards of New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady and wife Gisele Bundchen have been convicted of attempted murder after shooting at the paparazzi during the couples wedding in Costa Rica.

The incident occurred in 2009 while Tom and Gisele were getting married at a resort in Costa Rica.  After noticing members of the paparazzi taking pictures of the couple’s nuptials, body guards Miguel Solis and Alexander Rivas demanded the photographers hand over their memory cards.  When the photographers refused and began to drive away, police reports indicate the bodyguards opened fire on the paparazzi’s SUV.  Neither photographer was injured in the incident.

According to Brady and Bundchen, they believe the entire incident is“absolute total b.s.” and claim they never heard the shots.  Brady told Sports Illustrated in 2009, “We found two guys on our property, and we told them to get out. Our security guys didn’t even have guns. There were no shots fired.”

Either way, a Costa Rican court has found the bodyguards guilty of attempted murder and have sentenced them to five years in prison.  They must also pay a fine of $10,000 to the photographers.
