We were super excited when we heard rumors that Anne Hathaway was pregnant, but unfortunately, the news was nothing more than that – a rumor! Sadly, there is no baby on board. The whole thing was a huge misunderstanding. A rep for the actress confirmed that Hathaway and her husband Adam Shulman are not currently expecting a child.
It all started when Hatthaway’s brother, Tom, made a joke about one day becoming an uncle or “Uncle Tom” — a reference to Harriet Beecher Stowe’s 1852 anti-slavery epic Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Shortly after, N.Y. Star printed a story claiming that Hathaway’s brother had let her pregnancy slip, getting all of our hopes up only to later be disappointed.
The Oscar winning actress won’t be taking the role of mother just yet, but if the baby rumors were true, it would be the first child for Hathaway and Shulman, who tied the knot in September 2012.
