The Big Night Out Tour: Fuel, Hoobastank & Alien Ant Farm

On Wednesday (Aug. 14), the August summer day transformed as the skies shaded gray and armies of rain drops came crashing down on the windshields of vehicles headed towards downtown Houston. The dark night’s destination was House of Blues where music provided an escape from the gloomy outdoors. Houstonians gathered intimately on both the venue floor and balcony for a thunderous night of entertainment from The Big Night Out Tour’s Fuel, Hoobastank and Alien Ant Farm.

The night’s lineup proved impressive. Each of the band’s performances were correspondingly outstanding. Alien Ant Farm dived in deep from the first note, creating high expectations for the subsequent bands of the evening. The alternative rock band triggered the series of night-long hoots and hollers in the crowd that was upheld by the following band, Hoobastank, who performed with equal magnitude.

Fuel, a rock band who have remained in the shadows for the past years, ended the evening with classic rocky tunes for modern times, performing songs like “Bittersweet.” The band premiered a new track, “Hey Mama.” The song successfully correspond country, rock and bluesy soul music. The sneak peak single raises curiosity for what sounds the band’s new album will hold.

Altogether, Fuel, Hoobastank and Alien Ant Farm took fans to a safe, rock out place Wednesday night (Aug. 14) at House of Blues.
