Who Wants to Be a Millionaire host Meredith Vieira is leaving the quiz show after 11 seasons.
“It’s the final year of Meredith’s contract. She has chosen to move on and pursue other opportunities. We are searching for a new host,” a spokesperson for Disney/ABC Television Group announced.
A new host is expected to take over hosting duties in the Fall after Vieira leaves the show this summer.
The former Today talk show host plans to launch a YouTube channel that will focus on stories of peoples lives. No further details of Vieira’s plans after her departure have been announced.
During her tenure at Millionaire Vieira won two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Game Show Host.
